Device Settings allow you to set additional parameters that do not belong to any particular app.

For convenience, they are grouped first by User Restrictions and then specific device settings.

**Arbitration between SAM and an EMM**

EMM settings will override SAM settings if items are configured from both an EMM and SAM or the Spectralink phone UI.

## User Restrictions

![](https://3032864282-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FxfLF6IpyutR429bMnvvf%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-a3ca93e40f56aebcb1e26e74890c2acf6e34e0df%2Fimage127.png?alt=media)

Sometimes you may not want users to control certain phone settings. User Restrictions options let the administrator grant or restrict access to these settings.

See the *Versity Applications Administration Guide* for information about each setting.

### Quick Settings Tiles

| Permits the administrator to display or hide any or all quick settings tiles (Android options on a phone which display when the user drags down from the top of the screen). These Quick Settings Tiles are *enabled* by default: | <p>• Internet<br>• Bluetooth<br>• Do Not Disturb<br>• Flashlight<br>• Auto Rotate<br>• Battery Saver<br>• Mobile Data<br>• Airplane Mode<br>• Screen Cast<br>• High Touch<br>• Hotspot<br>• Night Light<br>• Location<br>• Color Inversion<br>• Data Saver<br>• Dark Theme<br>• Quick Share</p> |

#### Bluetooth Low Energy Tag

*For Versity 97 Series phones only*

Controls whether the user can change the Android setting found here: **Settings** > **Connected devices** > **Connection preferences**

> **Bluetooth Low Energy Tag**. If set to *User controlled* the user can change the setting; if set to *Enable* or *Disable* then the setting is grayed out in the UI.

If the Android setting is enabled the BLE tag will transmit:

1. When the phone is powered off
2. When the phone is on but Bluetooth is not enabled

The Wi-Fi Loss Alarm will alert a user if their phone has been disconnected from Wi-Fi for a defined period, configurable from 1 to 10 minutes. (The alarm would be triggered, for example, if a user has gone beyond the Wi-Fi footprint of their facility, or if they lose connectivity for some other reason.)

See the *Versity Applications Administration Guide* for more information on using the Wi-Fi Loss Alarm.

## Admin Reboot Command

These parameters allow the administrator to control when a reboot command is executed at the device. The reboot can be done either on a schedule or the next time the phone is connected to power. Set the schedule type and timer options before clicking **Trigger Reboot**. Which phone(s) receives the reboot command depends on the level (Device, Group or Enterprise) being configured.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.spectralink.net/amie-essentials/applications/device-settings.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
